Workforce and Unemployment Insurance (UI) staff are experiencing an unprecedented increase in calls, visits, and requests for assistance. 

The UI department acknowledges the struggles everyone is experiencing during this time.

One of the most common issue is customers who need a PIN or password reset. Here is a short video about PIN resets. This video is primarily aimed at current claimants who revoked their PIN. Customers who do not have a current claim may be experiencing difficulties submitting an unemployment claim because they had a PIN or Password established on a prior claim.

The Texas Workforce Commission has also launched a new automated virtual assistant to help Texans sign up for unemployment insurance.

The artificial intelligence-enabled chatbot can instantly answer many of the most common questions about the UI process.
